EYELASH EXTENSIONS

What do I need to do prior to my appointment?

Try your best to arrive with makeup-free eyes, it's usually best if you do not apply eye make-up the day of your appointment, please do not curl your lashes and ensure anything applied the day before has been well removed. Also, try and grab a bite to eat before your appointment.

What happens if I arrive with eye makeup on?

If for any reason you arrive at your appointment with eye makeup, there will be a charge of £10 added to your appointment bill. Please also take into consideration that the removal time eats into valuable lashing time which will, therefore, affect the fullness of the end result.

Are lash treatments painful?

Lash treatments are not painful, and most clients actually find them very relaxing. It’s an opportunity to lie back and grab a lash nap.

How long will my lash extensions last

Your new lashes will last between 2 to 4 weeks depending on your skincare routine and your own natural lash cycle. A normal lash shed cycle is 30-60 days. Most people shed natural lashes at a rate of 1-5 lashes per eye, a day,

To maintain the full look of your lashes, generally, it will require you to maintain refills every 2-3 weeks.

Can anything affect the longevity of my lash extensions?

Factors such as exposure to humidity, oily makeup, oily skin, removers/sun lotions, medication and changes in your health, steam or touching your eyes a lot may cause the extensions to fall quicker. Whatever you do not pick your lashes!

How often should I need lash infills?

I recommend returning for infills every 2 to 3 weeks. If you wait too long your extensions will fall out through the natural lash life cycle, and you will require a full set.

Infills can take from 45 - 90 minutes, depending on the condition of your remaining lashes. A good sign of when you need an Infill is when your extensions are 60% gone.

Can extensions damage my natural lashes?

Lash extensions only cause damage to your natural lashes when they are applied either incorrectly or if you pick at your lashes. If your technician is not properly trained and qualified, lash extensions could possibly damage your lashes leaving you with “bald spots.” The lash extension process is meticulous. I am a qualified and experienced lash technician, I can guarantee proper application and no harm done. Picking and pulling and rubbing at your lashes will cause your lashes to come out prematurely before your next lash is ready to come through, this will leave you with bald patches/lash line which can take from 6+ months to recover.

When my eyelash extensions came out, my natural lashes came with them, should this happen?

Some people worry when they see an eyelash extension come out with one of their eyelashes attached to it. Eyelash extensions are designed to stay on your lashes until your natural lash falls out, so when you see an extension come out with one of your lashes attached to it, please don’t worry that’s exactly what’s supposed to happen, unless of course if you catch the extension and pull it off prematurely.

Are lash extensions put on every single lash?

Some technicians aim for 100% coverage on each eye, I don’t. To maintain your natural lash health I avoid placing extensions on baby (new/anagen) lashes as this can cause damage if the lash is too young to take the weight.  I prefer to work along with the natural lash cycle so when you come back for infills your baby lashes would have grown longer and healthier ready for the new extension, your old lash would have fallen out and a new baby starting to grow in its place.

What is the difference between Classic/Individual lash extensions and Russian Volume Lashes?

Classic/Individual lashes are placed one on one to your own lashes.

Russian Lashes (also known as 2D, 3D, 4D, 5D, 6D etc.) are a collection of ultrafine lashes that are created into ‘fans’ and then placed in your individual lashes. Because the lashes are extremely fine, the combined weight of several lashes still equates to the same weight of a single lash.  So in effect with Russian Volume, you can have up to anything from 2-8+ lashes placed on 1 individual lash of your own.

Is there anything I can use to keep my eyelashes in good condition while I’m wearing eyelash extensions?

Yes there are plenty of lash serums on the market that will help strengthen and grow the lashes, however, you will need to use one that’s oil-free, and it really needs to be one that you paint on at the base of the lashes on the skin, not the lashes.

I wear contact lenses, can I have lash treatments?

All of the treatments I offer are suitable for those who wear contact lenses. I do recommend however removing contact lenses before treatments if possible.

 Can eyelash extensions be removed?

Yes, of course, ideally they need to be professionally removed with a professional grade bond remover. If for any reason you cannot get me to remove them, then i do retail a gentle home remover that is also conditioning. This reduces any risk of damage to your natural lashes and eye area.

There are removers available on the market that risk damage to your lashes and eyes. Please research first. Alternatively, you can just leave them to fall out naturally.

How old do I need to be for eyelash extensions?

You need to be 18 and over, however, 16 to 18 years can have eyelash extensions with parental consent, a parent or guardian will also need to be present at the treatment. I DO NOT treat anyone under the age of 16.

Can eyelash extensions look natural?

Absolutely, they can look very natural, this is what I specialise in but not all lash artists or salons offer natural-looking lash extensions.

Will eyelash extensions last on holiday?

Many clients have lash extensions specifically for their holidays, the same aftercare applies for holidays as at home. If you are swimming just remember to pat your lashes dry rather than rub them and try to avoid getting sunscreen on the lashes. If you are dipping in and out of the sea or pools, be sure to rinse off your face/lashes with a freshwater shower to rinse away any salt water or chlorine residue. Also, consider a Lash Lift as an alternative for holiday lashes.

Are eyelash extensions vegan?

Yes, My lash extension treatments are vegan-friendly.

Are eyelash extensions safe during pregnancy?

I do not offer any lash treatments to pregnant or breastfeeding ladies. There’s no known case of eyelash extensions causing a problem during pregnancy, however, there are still heightened risks during this period, Our Hormones at this incredible time do crazy things to our bodies. As with most beauty treatments, there is a possibility of an allergic reaction, even a negative patch test does not guarantee 100% that you won’t have a reaction in treatment.

Are eyelash extensions ok for swimming?

Yes, they are fine to swim in; however, they may not last quite as long on someone that swims regularly compared to someone that doesn’t.
